CATPC at Noorderzon festival

22 August - 1 September 2024

CATPC members Matthieu Kasiama, Mbuku Kimpala and Ced’art Tamasala will be at Noorderzon in Groningen to give two talks and an introduction to the screening of the documentary series Plantations and Museums on Saturday 31 August 2024.

They will discuss the story behind CATPC’s historic loan of the Balot sculpture, which they secured this year as part of their participation in the Venice Biennale. The documentary series, filmed in 2020, follows CATPC members Matthieu and Ced’art as they search for the Balot sculpture, interviewing key thinkers on the sculpture and postcolonial discourse along the way.

Renzo Martens will have a discussion with art and culture philosopher Thijs Lijster about the value of art and culture as part of the interview series presented by Jelte Posthumus, on 28 August at 21.00.
